The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Becoming Catholic Changes Your Life

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), introduces the teachings of Jesus and the Catholic Church, in a faith journey of 24 weekly sessions (Wednesdays, between 7pm and 9pm), commencing in early October and ending at Pentecost in May of the following year.

Those seeking the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, First Holy Communion, Confirmation - are usually received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil, although there is no time limit for those who wish to extend their faith journey over a longer period.

Walking with Christ and the Catholic Faith is an experience that will change your life. On your way, you will be guided and supported by RCIA catechists and sponsors, our caring Oblate Priests, the Sisters of Mary of Leuca, and the broader community of St. Therese Parish.

You will not be alone. You are truly welcome here.

• If you have a hunger for spiritual meaning in your life, if you are being drawn towards the Light of Christ, or if you simply wish to know more about our beautiful Faith, you are welcome
• If you have never been baptized but seek the saving Grace of our Lord and God, you are welcome
• If you have been baptized in another Christian tradition but would like to learn more about becoming Catholic, you are welcome
• If you were Baptized in the Catholic Faith but have not received the Blessed Eucharist or the Sacrament of Confirmation, you are welcome
