Altar Server Ministry

"I will go to the altar of God, the God of my gladness and joy."

Have you ever sat at Mass and felt a calling to do more for Jesus? If you are in Grade 3 or higher and have received your First Holy Communion, you are invited to serve our Lord in a very special way by becoming an Altar Server.

A Very Important Ministry

Altar servers play a vital role in the liturgy by assisting the Priest during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. As a server, you will be trained to:

  • Lead the Procession: Carry the Cross and the candles.

  • Assist the Priest: Prepare the altar for the arrival of Jesus.

  • Announce the Miracle: Ring the bells during the Consecration.

  • Serve the Community: Help the Mass run smoothly and beautifully.

Imagine the joy you will bring to Jesus by offering your time and heart to help at His altar!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word

Our mission is to share the Catholic faith and the Gospel message with the youngest members of our parish. We strive to make the Word of God come alive in a simple, fun, and interactive way—using storybooks and visuals to get children excited about attending Mass!

What We Do

During the liturgy, our team leads the children through a special program designed just for them:

  • Worship: Joyful songs and age-appropriate prayers.

  • The Word: A simplified, engaging explanation of the Sunday Gospel.

  • Activity: A related craft or group activity to reinforce the day's lesson.

  • The Offertory: The children rejoin the main congregation to help bring up the gifts. Father blesses them before they return to their pews to sit with their families.

Program Details

  • Who: Children in JK through Grade 4.

  • When: Every Sunday during the 9:00 am Mass.

  • Where: The Parish Hall. (Please bring children downstairs before Mass begins).

  • Schedule: We typically start in the fall, following Welcome Sunday in September.

Please Note: Children’s Liturgy does not run during the summer months (July/August), the two-week Christmas break, or when other special events are scheduled in the Parish Hall.
